TONI SAILER – FROM TOP ATHLETE TO PREMIUM BRAND

The Austrian Toni Sailer was considered an exceptional talent of his time after winning three gold medals at the 1956 Winter Olympics in Cortina D'Ampezzo. The then 21-year-old had achieved all his sporting goals and became a legend. In addition to his sporting success, he also earned this title through his other passions - acting and singing.

Almost 50 years later, in 2004, the name Toni Sailer was reinterpreted by Hans Taubenberger's business idea. The result is an unmistakable premium brand for ski clothing that not only revives the name.

An idea takes shape

The conditions were perfect: founder Hans Taubenberger was an enthusiastic skier himself and already had many years of experience in the textile industry when he came up with the idea of creating his own collection that would bring the look and charm of that time into the here and now. Elegant, timeless outfits, figure-hugging cuts and exceptionally high-performance stretch materials were to be combined with retro elements from Toni Sailer's time to create a perfect symbiosis of fashion and technology. As a hero of his time, Toni Sailer was the ideal namesake for a brand that pursued an extraordinary vision: to combine unique, outstanding design and high-tech through new developments and thus meet the highest fashion standards.

The name establishes itself

As a newcomer, the Toni Sailer brand was presented for the first time in 2006 at ISPO, the most renowned and largest international trade fair in the sports industry, in a small circle of premium brands. The collection presented immediately won over head buyers from highly respected sports fashion houses in top destinations such as Courchevel, St. Moritz, Lech and Aspen, laying the foundations for the company's success.

Today, in addition to its own subsidiary in North America, the company has around 250 customers in over 30 countries worldwide. At the head office near Munich, Toni Sailer's team works with great passion on up to three collections simultaneously. Design, production, sales, showroom - all this is united in one house, which is still managed by owner Hans Taubenberger.

Haute Couture and Hightech

Each piece in a Toni Sailer collection undergoes a long and intensive process until it is ready for production, from the initial idea to testing and development. Toni Sailer takes just as much time selecting the production facilities as it does for the unique product. The availability of the best functional materials and many years of expertise in processing them are crucial here. Partners in Europe and Asia transform raw materials into top-class performance models for us. Over 80% of production takes place in sample rooms, where even the smallest quantities and limited editions of just 60 pieces are produced by hand.

It is not unusual for a Toni Sailer jacket, for example, to take 1,000 minutes to produce. First-class workmanship and attention to detail turn every item of clothing into a high-tech model with a luxurious fashion statement.
